It is also a glorified Kindle. Why buy the $500 Kindle when you can have an iPad that does a dozen more things as well, and has App access.

Flash crashes the browser when someone write's poor code. I've seen JS apps crash the browser too.

Adobe will make money on whatever technology is popular, whether Flash or HTML 5, by making tooling for it. And Adobe can't make Flash run well on the iPhone without Apple's help, try as hard as they might.

There are a few things Adobe keeps from the Flash player such as AEC to protect their Connect product, which makes me mad. But over all they do a good job at implementing the most common requests for new features.

Flash should be on the iPhone and iPad. It is much more prevalent than HTML 5 is, that's for sure. And with the Open Screen project and player 10.1, there is no technical reason not to.

Adobe has the updates coming. Flash 10.1 is already testing very well. All I would like to see would be Apple to say, ok we will work with Adobe to get this working. Right now Apple is not even willing to work to fix the issues.

Most of the issues with Flash on the Mac are experienced in Safari, which has had at least 2 major revisions as well as a new operating system release since Flash Player 10 has come out.

If Apple said we will hold off Flash until it meets our expectations and will work with Adobe until it does would be a great thing to hear.

Until Adobe can bring some updates and major changes to the table, Apple is making the right choice leaving Flash off their product line. I can't help but imagine the fit IWantFlashers would put up, b****ing at Apple when Flash doesn't work or crashes their browser. I've seen this before.

Adobe is behaving as if their proprietary plugin is an standardized feature. It's not; it's proprietary software that in the end only serves to make Adobe money - as would be the case no matter what company it is. As such, they have to work to keep it current and as bug-free as possible. They aren't willing to do this, so Apple is reacting. If Adobe would get it right, then I'm sure Apple would consider it.

Bravo, Apple, for not caving.

i'm a flash developer but i'm tired of adobe, we all have been shouting out what we want for flash since 5 years ago!! and they always came up with the opposite. and i'm tired defending adobe if they're not even listening to us.

if flash does gets killed, then its entirely their fault!

and @Please-no-flash-on-the-iPhone IF YOU HAVE BALLS, USE YOUR REAL NAME AND TYPE IN YOUR ADDRESS.

here's my address 450 W. 33 Street, New York, NY 10001

[Sorry had to edit out the saltier language, trying to keep this SFW - iwantflash]
[Also look at the flash player 10.1, lots of the things I have been asking for are in it - iwantflash - Luke Kilpatrick]

So much for your on line petition. All positive comments eh?

That's because you choose to remove any comments you deem anti flash. Put my previous comment back up. Show some guts.

Btw sent from my iPhone - one of 30 million sold worldwide. So far you have 336 signatures. Doesn't compute does it lol
